I won’t shut up about my love for clothes. I love to dress myself up like a little doll with a purse to match every outfit. Even if I’m not planning on leaving the house, I like to get myself ready, put on a little outfit, and take pictures of myself and organize them within my own personal outfit archive.
I have pulled five simple outfits I wore this fall out from the archive to share. This fall, like all seasons, I was heavily inspired by 90s fashion including turtlenecks, vests, and little black skirts with stockings. I’m also a sucker for a comfortable maxi skirt, especially since I wore those outfits to eat dinner and drink cocktails. ALSO, gotta love a boot, am I right?!
The skirt in the first picture was bought off of Depop. I WISH I could thrift in real life; however, the thrift stores near me are seriously lacking the very specific Jennifer Love Hewitt-inspired clothing items I am looking for. The vest in the second picture was also purchased off of Depop and I had no idea it matched the window cover in my house until after I purchased it, took it out the package, and held it up next to the window.
I feel like the Fiona Apple outfit speaks for itself.
The skirt in the fourth photo is something I thought I was going to give away five years ago. I bought it from Forever 21 when I was in high school. I remember wearing this skirt in college in 2016 and never thought I would wear it past 2018, but I’m so happy I didn’t give it away. That’s my issue with giving away or donating clothes. I always think I will have a reason for wearing something, even if I haven’t worn it in two years, so I don’t give it up. Typically, it just stays in my closet for another two years, but this time the item has been reborn. I honestly can’t remember the last time I wore this skirt in 2018, but in the past two months I have worn it in three different outfits.
The final outfit is probably the most unique and most expensive outfit that I own. The skirt was purchased at a local boutique so it was a little pricier than the typical Depop resell or fast fashion site. But it’s obviously worth it. The bag in the photo is the most expensive bag I own. I bought it during a Pride festival from a local vendor. It’s handmade and worth every penny. I fucking love purses.
I love clothes, especially fall fashion. Summers are hot and humid and all I want to wear is oversized t-shirts and running shorts. But the crisp autumn air creates opportunity for layering unique clothing items while allowing for proper ventilation and comfortability. Once winter hits, layers will take on a whole new meaning, so you have to take advantage of the autumn air and wear your fall fashion fits.
